On September 8, 2014, Alexis Nogueras-Torres, a 44-year-old male of Hispanic ethnicity, was tragically shot and killed in Reading, Pennsylvania. The incident occurred in the early hours of the morning when Alexis was in his girlfriend's apartment. Alexis's girlfriend's ex-boyfriend, David Lopez-Clinton, forcibly entered the apartment and shot Alexis in front of the girlfriend and her 14-year-old child.
After committing the murder, Lopez-Clinton fled the scene but was later found dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound a few blocks away.
The Berks County coroner ruled the deaths a murder-suicide. Police obtained a warrant for Lopez-Clinton's arrest, but since he had already taken his own life, no further arrests or suspects were involved in the case. The investigation concluded that Lopez-Clinton acted alone, and there were no additional litigations or law cases stemming from the incident.
