On June 23, 2024, Carole Smith, aged 80, and her husband, Roger Smith, aged 81, were found deceased in their residence on Spang Road in Marshall Township, Pennsylvania. Both individuals had sustained fatal gunshot wounds. The Allegheny County Medical Examiner identified the couple and determined the incident to be a murder-suicide, with Roger Smith inflicting the fatal injuries before taking his own life.
