Lillian Laurel Prahin, aged 49, was found dead on September 25, 1982, in Midland County, Michigan. Her body was discovered floating in the Chippewa River, about 1.5 miles south of M-20 near S. 9 Mile Road. The circumstances of her death were determined to be the result of homicide. She was last seen alive on September 22, 1982, in Bay City, Michigan, where she was a resident and frequented the downtown area.
