Damon Dorsey Jr., a 23-year-old male of African American ethnicity, tragically lost his life on July 9, 2015, in Erie, Pennsylvania. He was shot in the arm and hip at East 24th and Perry Streets. The incident occurred when James Troop, 47, fired at Damon Dorsey Jr. Troop was later found guilty of possessing an instrument of crime and reckless endangerment. However, he was acquitted of attempted homicide and aggravated assault during a trial in May 2016.
