In the early morning hours of September 25, 2015, a dispute that began inside a nightclub in Stowe Township, Pennsylvania, spilled out into the parking lot, erupting in a burst of gunfire that left two men dead and a woman wounded. One of the victims was Jarrell Green, a 22-year-old Black / African American male from the Sheraden neighborhood of Pittsburgh.
The tragic events unfolded at Silky's Gentlemen's Club on Island Avenue.
An argument between two groups of patrons inside the establishment led to their removal by club bouncers. The conflict, however, did not de-escalate. Instead, it intensified in the parking lot where a shootout ensued at approximately 4:30 a.m. In the chaos, Jarrell Green and 25-year-old Lamont Evans Jr. of Clairton were both fatally shot. A woman was also struck by a bullet in the foot but survived her injuries.
Following the shooting, an attempt was made to rush Green to a hospital in a private vehicle. The driver, in a desperate bid for help, pulled over in the 2800 block of West Carson Street in the Esplen neighborhood of Pittsburgh and called for an ambulance. Tragically, by the time paramedics arrived, Jarrell Green had succumbed to his injuries. Lamont Evans Jr. was pronounced dead at the scene in the club's parking lot.
The Allegheny County Police launched an investigation into the double homicide. In October 2015, authorities identified 23-year-old Lester Jackson of Homewood as a suspect in the shooting. He was charged with the homicide of Lamont Evans, as well as aggravated assault and attempted homicide. It was not specified in the reports whether he was also charged in connection with Jarrell Green's death. Police considered Jackson to be armed and dangerous and sought the public's assistance in locating him. The outcome of the charges against Lester Jackson and whether any other suspects were identified or arrested in connection with Jarrell Green's death has not been detailed in available online sources.
