On Halloween night in 2016, a violent home invasion in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, tragically cut short the life of 50-year-old Kristine A. Kibler. The horrifying events unfolded at her daughter's home on Poplar Street, where Kristine and her 25-year-old son, Shane Wright, were shot and killed by a masked gunman. The family had just returned from an evening of trick-or-treating with the children in the house. In the moments before the fatal shots were fired, Kristine's daughter, Cheyanna Wright, was awakened by her mother's screams. She opened her door to the terrifying sight of a man in a black ski mask holding her mother in a hostage hold. Kristine was shot in the lower abdomen, and her son was shot in the chest. She was rushed to the Williamsport Regional Medical Center but was pronounced dead on arrival.
The investigation into the double homicide revealed the motive was robbery, with the perpetrators intending to steal marijuana, cash, and pills from Shane Wright. Three men were ultimately implicated in the crime. Joseph Sentore Coleman Jr. was identified as one of the gunmen. Another man, Jordan Adonis Rawls, was also accused of entering the house and participating in the murders. The getaway driver was identified as Casey N. Wilson, who told investigators he participated in the robbery because he needed money to pay off a drug debt.
In the years that followed, the wheels of justice turned for the men responsible for the deaths of Kristine Kibler and her son. In February 2019, a jury found Joseph Coleman guilty of second-degree murder and robbery for his role in the killings. Casey Wilson, the driver, pleaded guilty to two counts of criminal homicide. Jordan Rawls was the third suspect to face legal consequences for the fatal home invasion.
