Trooper Landon Eugene Weaver, aged 23, was tragically killed in the line of duty on December 30, 2016, in Juniata Township, Huntingdon County, Pennsylvania. He was born on November 11, 1993, in Altoona, Pennsylvania, and joined the Pennsylvania State Police in December 2015 after graduating from the Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Trooper Weaver was assigned to Troop G, Huntingdon, and had served for only one year before his untimely death.

On the day of his death, Trooper Weaver responded to a domestic disturbance call at a rural home on Bakers Hollow Road. He was investigating a violation of a protection from abuse order when he was shot by Jason Robison, the subject of the PFA. Robison had been released on bail earlier that month on a felony charge. During the interaction, Robison produced a handgun and shot Trooper Weaver.

A large contingent of troopers initiated an extensive manhunt for Robison, which lasted throughout the night and into the following day. On December 31, 2016, Robison was located in a camper not far from the scene and was shot and killed by troopers when he reached for his weapon. Over 2,000 law enforcement officers attended Trooper Weaver's memorial service, held at the Blair County Convention Center.

Trooper Weaver is survived by his wife, Macy, his parents, Eric and Christine, and his brother, Larett. He is laid to rest at the Fairview Cemetery in Martinsburg, Pennsylvania. The incident raised several questions about the policies and procedures of the Pennsylvania State Police, including why Trooper Weaver was investigating alone and whether the suspect's violent history was adequately considered.

Trooper Weaver's death was a tragic loss for the community and the Pennsylvania State Police, and his sacrifice is remembered by many who attended his memorial service and continue to honor his memory.
