In the Kensington neighborhood of Philadelphia, a 14-year-old Black male named Tymier Fraiser was enjoying a Memorial Day block party on May 29, 2017. The sounds of celebration were tragically pierced by gunfire when at least one unidentified shooter opened fire into the crowd gathered on the 2000 block of East Orleans Street. The young eighth-grader, who was looking forward to his graduation and a family trip to Disney World, was struck by multiple gunshots.
