On a bright afternoon in Allentown, Pennsylvania, the life of 28-year-old Richard Vera Jr., a Hispanic male, was tragically cut short. On October 2, 2017, Vera and another man, 24-year-old Keith Minick, were shot and killed in a brazen noontime double homicide at an intersection in the city. Both men were on foot when the gunfire erupted. They were rushed to Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest but succumbed to their injuries less than two hours later.
