Authorities reported that Lee Dill died from a single gunshot wound to the head. Investigators believe he was shot while he was sleeping, as there were no signs of a struggle at the scene. The person identified as responsible for his death was his 33-year-old ex-wife, Brittany Dill. After shooting Lee, she died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
According to the District Attorney, the couple had finalized their divorce the previous year but were still residing in the same home together. A "for sale" sign was reportedly in the front yard of the Jackson Township residence where the incident occurred. Law enforcement assured the public that there was no further threat related to this event.
Born on May 6, 1986, in Johnstown, Lee was a 2004 graduate of Johnstown High School. He was an active and respected member of his community, serving as a Captain of the West Taylor Township Volunteer Fire Company. His interests included hunting, being outdoors, riding his snowmobile, and working on vehicles.
