Tyric Pugh, a 30-year-old male from Aliquippa, PA, tragically died on May 15, 2020. He was found shot seven times, with five of the bullets striking him in the head, on Kiehl Street in Aliquippa. The investigation into his death revealed that Sheldon Jeter Jr., Pugh's childhood friend and roommate, was the last person seen with him. Surveillance footage showed Jeter's car in the vicinity at the time of the murder, and gunshot residue was found in his car. The murder weapon, a .380 semiautomatic handgun, was discovered under Jeter's mattress.
In June 2021, Sheldon Jeter Jr. was found guilty of first-degree murder in the fatal shooting of Tyric Pugh. The prosecution argued that Jeter's gun was capable of firing seven bullets, and four of the rounds found at the scene matched the ammunition discovered in Jeter's room. Despite the defense's argument that there was no forensic evidence or eyewitnesses, the jury was convinced by the circumstantial evidence presented. Jeter was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.
