In a tragic turn of events stemming from a domestic dispute, 30-year-old Tremayne Foster of Aliquippa, Pennsylvania, was fatally shot on a Friday night in April 2017. The incident unfolded after Foster went to a residence on Wykes Street to pick up his 9-month-old son. Just moments before the shooting, he had contacted 911 to report that he was being denied access to his child.
While outside the home, an argument broke out between Foster and Cordell Wimbs Broadus, the 16-year-old son of
the infant's mother. The verbal altercation escalated dramatically when the teenager allegedly pulled out a handgun and fired multiple shots at Foster. According to Foster's father, the assailant 'just came out and shot him point blank range.'
Wounded, Foster and his sister, who was with him at the time, fled down an alley in an attempt to reach his uncle's nearby home on Griffith Street. His sister reported hearing more gunshots as they ran for safety. Tragically, Foster collapsed in front of a house in the 700 block of Griffith Street before he could get to his uncle's residence. The Beaver County Coroner later confirmed that Foster died from a gunshot wound to the back and neck.
The suspect, Cordell Wimbs Broadus, was subsequently arrested and faced serious charges, including criminal homicide, attempted criminal homicide, and aggravated assault. The investigation suggested that tensions had been high prior to the fatal confrontation, with Foster's father alleging that the suspect's mother had threatened his son's life during a heated dispute the previous week.
