On a summer evening in 2020, the life of 34-year-old Elisha Marie Moses, a Black female, was tragically cut short in a burst of gunfire. The incident unfolded on Princeton Boulevard in Wilkinsburg, a borough bordering Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, on what has been reported as both the 4th and 5th of June. Elisha was not the only victim that night; she was found alongside 49-year-old Terrance Lamar Carter. Both had sustained multiple gunshot wounds.
Emergency services were called to the scene shortly before 10 p.m. When they arrived, they found Elisha and Terrance in critical condition. They were rushed to local hospitals, but their injuries proved to be too severe, and both were pronounced dead. The violent end to their lives contributed to an increase in homicides seen in both Pittsburgh and the wider Allegheny County that year.
In the wake of the shooting, the Allegheny County Police homicide detectives began their investigation. The motive behind the attack was not immediately clear, and authorities appealed to the public for any information that might lead to the identification of those responsible.
