On the evening of February 1, 2021, 19-year-old Kwann Henderson, a Black male from Philadelphia, was fatally shot in what authorities described as a cold-blooded double murder in Chester, Pennsylvania. The incident, which also claimed the life of his companion, 20-year-old Rasheen Jones, unfolded around 7:23 p.m. near the intersection of West 3rd and Lamokin Streets. Responding to a report of a gunshot victim, Chester Police officers discovered a silver Chevrolet Impala that had crashed into a building. Inside the vehicle, they found both Henderson and Jones suffering from gunshot wounds. Jones, an aspiring rapper known as 'RunUp Rico,' was pronounced dead at the scene. Henderson was transported to Crozier-Chester Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries.

The investigation into the double homicide quickly led to the identification of two juvenile suspects. Surveillance video from a convenience store at 1100 West 3rd Street played a crucial role in the case. The footage captured the moments before the shooting, showing the victims' vehicle parked outside. Investigators allege that a 14-year-old male, later identified as Darren Majeed and also referred to as Namai 'Pop' Melvin, approached the driver's side of the car and, after several minutes, appeared to fire a gun before fleeing on foot. The victims' car then crashed into the nearby building. Majeed, who was 15 at the time of his arrest, was identified from the surveillance footage by witnesses and a Chester police officer who had previous interactions with him.

Further investigation revealed the involvement of a 17-year-old female who allegedly orchestrated the fatal encounter. Authorities contend that she arranged the meeting that led to the deaths of Henderson and Jones and attempted to conceal her role in coordinating the robbery-turned-murder. Text messages exchanged on the day of the killings discussed a meeting location and included photos and information about marijuana. The 15-year-old male was charged with first-, second-, and third-degree murder, criminal homicide, robbery, and possession of a firearm by a minor, among other offenses. The 17-year-old female faced similar charges, including criminal homicide, murder, robbery, and conspiracy. Both suspects were held without bail at the George W. Hill Correctional Facility. Authorities also indicated that a second gunman who was standing outside the vehicle during the shooting was still being sought.
