In the West Philadelphia neighborhood of Mantua, a tragic discovery was made on the evening of April 12, 2021. Inside a silver Buick Century parked on the 3900 block of Aspen Street, police found Tarik Khalil Hooks II, a 21-year-old Black male, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Emergency responders rushed him to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, but despite their efforts, he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead that evening.
