On a Tuesday afternoon in Philadelphia, on June 15, 2021, a grim discovery was made inside a black Nissan Kicks parked on the 2700 block of Huntingdon Street. Inside the vehicle were the bodies of 35-year-old Stephanie Coccaro and 38-year-old William Dean. Both individuals, residents of New Jersey, had been fatally shot in the head.
Stephanie Coccaro, a White female from Williamstown, New Jersey, was a mother to a son named Christian.
Described as having a beautiful, infectious smile and a sweet soul, she was remembered for her unique and funny personality. She was a passionate advocate for human and animal rights, often fighting for those who had no voice. Stephanie was the owner of the Endless Summer Store and also worked at an Olive Garden. Her life was tragically cut short in what police are investigating as a double homicide.
The investigation into the deaths of Stephanie Coccaro and William Dean is ongoing, and as of now, the case remains unsolved. Shortly after the discovery, the Philadelphia Police Department released surveillance video showing three male suspects exiting the vehicle where the victims were found. The footage suggests that the suspects drove the car to that location with the bodies of Coccaro and Dean already inside, sometime around 9:30 p.m. the night before they were discovered. A reward of $20,000 has been offered for information that leads to an arrest and conviction in the case.
Authorities have not released a motive for the killings and it is unclear why Coccaro and Dean were in that area of Philadelphia. The Philadelphia Police Department continues to seek the public's assistance in identifying the three suspects seen in the surveillance footage. No arrests have been made in connection with this brutal double murder.
