On a Monday afternoon in Philadelphia, the life of 25-year-old Reginald Karl Barnes-Walton, a Black male, was tragically cut short. On October 4, 2021, at approximately 1:55 p.m., police responded to reports of a shooting on the 100 block of South 45th Street. Upon arrival, they discovered Barnes-Walton lying in the street, having sustained multiple gunshot wounds.
Emergency services transported him to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center.
Despite the efforts of medical staff, Reginald Barnes-Walton succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead later that afternoon. News reports at the time specified he had been shot in the neck and shoulder.
