In the evening chill of a January Monday in Philadelphia, the life of 16-year-old Dominic Figueroa, a Hispanic male, was tragically cut short in a hail of gunfire. The shooting occurred around 6:30 p.m. on January 17, 2022, in the city's Logan neighborhood. Responding to the scene on North Hutchinson Street, police found the teenager suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
He was rushed to Temple University Hospital but succumbed to his injuries.
The investigation into the violent death of Dominic Figueroa painted a grim picture of the events that transpired. At least 20 shots were fired from what police believe were two different semi-automatic weapons. A passenger emerged from the vehicle carrying a rifle, which is believed to have been one of the weapons used in the attack. While a handgun was recovered at the scene, the occupants of the white sedan were identified as the primary suspects.
