Nathan Ervin, a 28-year-old Black male from Philadelphia, was shot on August 3, 2022, on the 200 block of Zeralda Street in Germantown, in the very neighborhood where he lived. Early reports said police were called there at about 6:48 p.m. and found him suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The violence was brutal: news accounts said he had been shot several times in the head and once in the back.
