On June 8, 2011, authorities in Detroit, Michigan, made a grim discovery in the 17000 block of Orleans Street on the city's northeast side. Inside a Chevrolet Malibu bearing Ohio license plates, police found the bodies of three individuals who had been shot to death. Among the victims was 26-year-old Donnell Lewis, a Black male from Akron, Ohio, who had been killed alongside two women, 22-year-old Shaynese Sykes and 21-year-old Zipporah Alford.
