Rodney Kevin Kinzy, a 30-year-old male of Caucasian ethnicity, was a Deputy Sheriff with the Washington County Sheriff's Office in Ohio. On April 17, 1990, he responded to a shootout in Noble County, Ohio. Deputy Kinzy was shot and killed while attempting to warn other officers to seek cover. The suspect, Robert Egnot, was involved in an attempted murder and was killed by return gunfire during the incident. The shootout occurred in a barn, which was set ablaze, leading to the suspect's death.
