Brandon Shells Jr., an 18-year-old African American male from Dayton, Ohio, tragically died on October 26, 2013. He was affectionately known as "BJ" by his family and friends. Brandon was found dead the day after he was shot, in between two houses in the 200 block of Boyer Street, about five miles from his home. The circumstances of his death were particularly puzzling as he was not dressed for the cold weather, having no jacket on the night he was killed.
