On September 23, 2010, 25-year-old Lorenzo Peagler was shot and killed in Dayton, Ohio. The shooting occurred near the intersection of Arlene Avenue and Kings Highway around 11:30 p.m. According to police reports, Peagler was walking with a friend when two men approached them and opened fire. Seventeen shell casings from at least two different firearms were found at the scene. Peagler was hit multiple times, including once in the head, and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The attackers fled, and no suspects have been identified, leaving this case unsolved.
Prior to his death, Peagler had experienced multiple run-ins with law enforcement. He had a criminal record that included a guilty plea for robbery in 2004 and several other minor offenses in the years following.
