Michael A. Jackson, a 48-year-old African American man from Dayton, Ohio, tragically passed away on November 24, 2020. He was born on July 24, 1972, to Willie E. Felton and Joyce Taylor. Michael is survived by his two sons, Curtis Jackson and Malachi Jackson, and his fiancé, Dalisa Mitchell. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Mikia Jackson.
Michael's death was part of a triple homicide that occurred at his home in the 2600 block of North Gettysburg Avenue in Dayton.
The incident was a targeted attack, stemming from a robbery and drug deal. Along with Michael, Dontay Alston, 45, and Justin Wilson, 37, were also found shot to death at the scene.
The suspect in the case, Octavius Lamont Humphrey Sr., 41, from Trotwood, was arrested and charged with murder, tampering with evidence, and having weapons while under disability. Humphrey was taken into custody without incident, and police believe he was acquainted with the victims. The investigation revealed that a large amount of marijuana was recovered at the scene, and police are not seeking any other suspects.
