Jonathan Scott Rogers, a 21-year-old male from Dayton, Ohio, tragically passed away on January 22, 2014. Rogers was born on May 24, 1992, to Kenneth R. Rogers and Geneva B. Hamilton. He is survived by his parents, girlfriend Hayley Leasure, siblings, step-brothers, and numerous other relatives and friends.
Rogers' death was the result of a shooting on Demphle Avenue in Dayton.
The Dayton Police Department arrested two individuals, Zachary Wilson and Marissa Jane Ball , on suspicion of aggravated murder. However, both were released from custody after the Montgomery County Prosecutor's Office determined there was insufficient evidence to hold them. The investigation continued, with police exploring the possibility that the motive for Rogers' killing was robbery.
Rogers' brother, Billy Flynn, expressed the family's desire for justice and ensuring the right people were held accountable. Despite the arrests, the case remained open as detectives sought more evidence to build a stronger case.
