LeDon Shelton, a 42-year-old African American man from Cincinnati, OH, tragically lost his life on June 4, 2014. Shelton was fatally shot in the parking lot of Jack's Carry Out in Evanston after an attempted robbery. He was with his 20-year-old son when two individuals from an earlier argument in the store approached them at gunpoint. During the robbery, Robert McCallum, 24, shot Shelton in the chest when he did not cooperate. The bullet severed Shelton's aorta, leading to his death.
