Ryan Johnson, 32, a male from Cincinnati and a Black / African American man, was shot multiple times just after midnight on August 29, 2025, in the parking lot of a Taco Bell on the 1000 block of Gest Street in the city’s Queensgate neighborhood. First responders with the Cincinnati Fire Department tried to save him, but he died at the scene. Police said the gunman fled, and investigators began gathering surveillance video and appeals for tips as the restaurant shut its doors for the day.
