Ja'Taven Cotrell Dukes, Sr., a 24-year-old African American man from Lima, Ohio, tragically passed away on October 1, 2014. He was fatally shot during a home invasion at 724 W. Eureka St. The incident occurred between 9 p.m. and midnight when Marquis Hall, who had been involved in an earlier altercation at the home, returned with a gun and fired shots at the residence. In response, someone inside the home fired back in self-defense, and Ja'Taven Dukes was accidentally shot while on the porch. ...
