Mekhi Khi Williams, a 16-year-old African American male from Lima, Ohio, tragically passed away on November 18, 2020, from multiple gunshot wounds. The young junior at Lima Senior High School was remembered fondly by his family and friends, who gathered for a candlelight vigil to honor his memory.
Despite the tragic circumstances, no charges have been filed in connection with Mekhi's death.
A joint press release from the Allen County Prosecutor’s Office and Lima Police Department confirmed that while Mekhi died from multiple gunshot wounds, grand jurors did not issue any indictments. The investigation into his death remains ongoing, but as of now, no suspects have been publicly identified, and no arrests have been made.
The community continues to mourn the loss of Mekhi, who was described as a bright and promising young individual. His family, including his parents Christopher Williams, Sr. and Joeann L.
