arrest of two teenagers, Diondre Jefferson and Sean Fletcher. Jefferson, who was 17 at the time of the shooting, was identified as the gunman and was charged with murder, robbery, and kidnapping. Fletcher, 18, was charged with involuntary manslaughter and aggravated robbery. Both were found to have been involved in the crime, with Jefferson firing the shots and Fletcher acting as an accomplice.
The investigation revealed that Jefferson and Fletcher had planned the robbery, with Jefferson approaching Crabtree's vehicle while Fletcher stayed at the rear. After the shooting, the pair fled to a nearby house where they were eventually apprehended by the police. During the investigation, several guns were found in the house, and one of them matched the shell casings found at the scene. Jefferson's DNA was also found on the weapon.
In the aftermath of the crime, both Jefferson and Fletcher were sentenced to prison. Jefferson received a life sentence with no chance of parole for 18 years, while Fletcher was sentenced to nine years in prison.
