Bobby Jerome Walker III, a 28-year-old African American male, tragically lost his life on February 13, 2015, in Whitehall, Ohio. Born on December 28, 1986, in Chicago, Illinois, Walker's passing was a result of a fatal shooting that stemmed from a drug-related dispute. His body was discovered in the hallway outside a second-floor apartment at the Yearling Green Apartments on Rickenbacker Avenue after residents heard gunshots.

Younger, a 26-year-old man from North Side, was involved in the incident. Younger had provided Walker with a half-pound of marijuana, but Walker left without paying for it. In response, Younger sought out Walker, holding four individuals at gunpoint in the 800 block of South Hamilton Road before eventually locating him at the apartment complex where the shooting occurred. Despite initially denying involvement in Walker's death, Younger admitted to being present at both locations.
As the case progressed, Younger pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter with a gun specification in March 2016. Prosecutors dismissed several charges, including aggravated murder, as part of a plea agreement. On May 12, 2016, Franklin County Common Pleas Judge Chris Brown sentenced Younger to 13 years in prison for his role in the fatal shooting. The sentencing marked the conclusion of a case that had deeply impacted the Whitehall community.
