and Kevin McKinney were indicted for the murder of Aaron Ladson. According to court documents, Shine, who was already in jail for the barbershop killings, conspired with McKinney to kill Aaron to eliminate him as a witness. Shine allegedly hired McKinney to carry out the murder, and after the killing, they worked together to hide the evidence.
The case against Shine and McKinney included charges of aggravated murder, murder, aggravated burglary, and attempted aggravated murder. The jury recommended the death sentence for Shine, but the judge ultimately sentenced him to life in prison without the possibility of parole, considering his troubled background and history of abuse.
