On September 22, 2015, 16-year-old Devon Bailey, a student at East High School in Youngstown, OH, tragically lost his life due to a gunshot wound. Bailey was found lying on the floor inside a home on Cohasset Drive, having been shot in the chest. The incident occurred on September 16, 2015, when Bailey was fatally wounded.
Following the shooting, Youngstown police swiftly arrested 21-year-old Sir Wolfgang Green in connection with Bailey's death.
Green was found at a home on Summer Street after police received an anonymous tip. He attempted to evade arrest by jumping from a second-story window but was apprehended by officers. Green was charged with murder, felonious assault, tampering with evidence, and being a felon in possession of a firearm.
In the subsequent legal proceedings, Green initially faced murder charges but later pleaded guilty to a reduced charge of involuntary manslaughter. On November 17, 2016, Mahoning County Court Judge Jack Durkin sentenced Green to 13 years in prison for Bailey's death. The judge expressed concern over Green's prior criminal history, noting that Green had been previously convicted of possessing a firearm as a felon.
