In the aftermath of Aavielle's death, U.S. Marshals arrested 19-year-old Davon Holmes, who was indicted on multiple charges, including aggravated murder.
Another suspect, Charles Caldwell, was also arrested and charged with aggravated murder. However, charges against both Holmes and Caldwell were eventually dropped by the Cuyahoga County Prosecutor's Office. The reasons for the dismissal of charges were not disclosed in court documents.
