Jeffery Rife, a 36-year-old man from Springfield, OH, tragically passed away on March 18, 2017, due to a gunshot wound to the head. He was the city's first homicide victim of the year. The incident occurred in the early hours of the morning in the 500 block of South Clairmont Avenue. Rife was taken to Springfield Regional Medical Center but succumbed to his injuries.
