Daryll Shaban Gavin, a 21-year-old Black male, tragically lost his life on August 31, 2017, in Columbus, Ohio. He was one of two victims in a double shooting incident that occurred at the corner of Traymore Place and Republic Avenue. The other victim, Theodore Anthony Stokes Jr., was pronounced dead at the scene, while Gavin was transported to Grant Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries several days later.
