Curtis Boston Jr., a 25-year-old African American man, tragically lost his life on December 8, 2017, in Cincinnati, Ohio. His burned body was discovered the following day in the back parking lot of a building in the Clifton Heights area. The Cincinnati Fire Department responded to a fire at the location and found Boston's body during their investigation.
The case remained unsolved for several years until March 15, 2023, when Cincinnati police arrested William McGivens, 36, and indicted
Quincy Ray, 42, on charges related to Boston's death. According to the Hamilton County Prosecutor's Office, McGivens and Ray are accused of luring Boston to a location, shooting him, and then chasing him with a car before driving him to another location where he was fatally shot. His body was subsequently burned to conceal the crime.
McGivens was arrested and charged with aggravated murder, murder, kidnapping, felonious assault, and tampering with evidence. Ray remains at large, and the investigation is ongoing. In August 2020, McGivens had previously pleaded guilty to abduction and carrying concealed weapons in a separate incident.
The tragic death of Curtis Boston Jr. has led to a renewed effort by law enforcement to bring those responsible to justice. The Cincinnati Police Department's Homicide Unit continues to investigate the case, urging anyone with information to come forward.
