Howard Eubank, a 54-year-old man from Akron, OH, was tragically killed on June 13, 2017. His wife, Marcia Eubank, 50, was later found guilty of his murder. Marcia Eubank shot Howard Eubank multiple times and then dismembered his body using power and hand tools. She hid the remains in storage containers within their home. For months, she maintained the illusion that Howard was still alive, even going so far as to log into his Facebook account and message family members to say he was doing well in Texas.
The truth came to light when their adult son, also named Howard, discovered one of the containers containing part of his father's decomposing body. He sent a photo of the discovery to his mother, who responded by admitting to the crime and instructing him to call the police. Marcia Eubank was arrested shortly after and later pleaded guilty to murder, tampering with evidence, and gross abuse of a corpse.
In February 2019, Marcia Eubank was sentenced to life in prison with the possibility of parole after 20 years. During the trial, it was revealed that she claimed to have suffered years of physical and mental abuse at the hands of her husband.
