Holly Watkins, a 57-year-old woman from Cleveland, OH, was tragically found shot and killed in her home on Emery Avenue on April 17, 2018. Watkins, who was known for her dedication to helping others, was a mother of seven children whom she raised on her own. Her death was discovered during a wellness check after she failed to show up for work.
The investigation quickly focused on her boyfriend, 62-year-old Lowell D. Harris, who was considered the primary suspect.
Harris was arrested four days later by the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force near Columbia Station. During the trial, Harris claimed that the gunshot wound was self-inflicted by Watkins, but the jury found him guilty of two counts of murder, felonious assault, and having weapons under disability. He was sentenced to life in prison, with eligibility for parole after 18 years.
