Andrea Heiser, a 21-year-old woman from Springfield, Ohio, tragically lost her life on May 15, 2018. The cause of Andrea's death was a horrific murder-suicide.
Her stepfather, Eric Sirons, shot her and her mother, Jennifer Sirons, before taking his own life with the same gun. The incident occurred at their home on Quinlan Court in Springfield. Eric Sirons, who was going through a divorce with Jennifer, initiated the tragic event by pulling out a handgun and announcing it was only a pellet gun before laughing and shooting Andrea and Jennifer. The surviving daughters of Jennifer Sirons hid in a locked bathroom and called 911, escaping unharmed.
The Springfield Police Department investigated the case and determined it to be a murder-suicide. Eric Sirons, a 56-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene, while Andrea Heiser was taken to Springfield Regional Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead. Jennifer Sirons was taken to Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, where she also succumbed to her injuries.
The community was deeply affected by the loss of Andrea Heiser. Friends, family, and classmates remembered her as a positive light, a dedicated student, and a caring individual who always put others' feelings above her own. Her funeral was held at Grace Lutheran Church, where many gathered to pay their respects and share their memories of her.
