On May 31, 1997, the body of 26-year-old Mary Lucinda Vanculin was discovered along Possum Road near the railroad tracks in Springfield, Ohio. Prior to this discovery, she had last been seen within the city of Springfield. Her body was found lying by the roadside, and authorities later identified her as the victim of a homicide. Mary Vanculin was 5'4", weighed 144 lbs, and had brown hair and blue eyes. Her death is believed to have occurred on the same day she was found.
