Stephen Tyrone Augustine, a 49-year-old Black male, tragically lost his life on July 17, 2018, in Columbus, Ohio. Augustine was found lying on the ground suffering from a gunshot wound at the rear of Club Déjà Vu, located at 985 Hudson Street. Despite the immediate response from EMS and transportation to Riverside Methodist Hospital, he was pronounced deceased at 11:10 p.m.
The circumstances surrounding Augustine's death remain unclear. Police reported that several people were present in the lot behind the club when the fatal shot was fired from a considerable distance away. It is uncertain whether Augustine was the intended target, and no known motive has been established for the shooting. The investigation into his death is ongoing, and authorities have yet to identify any suspects.
