Daevyon Maddox, a 17-year-old male from Toledo, OH, tragically lost his life on January 3, 2019. The incident occurred in the 700 block of Avondale Avenue, where Daevyon was fatally shot during an encounter involving gunfire exchanged between him, Malik Hall , and Montrelle Huggins . Daevyon was in a vehicle with Malik Hall when they met with Montrelle Huggins, leading to the deadly shooting.
Following the shooting, Malik Hall drove himself and Daevyon to Mercy Health St.
Vincent Medical Center, where Daevyon was pronounced deceased. Malik Hall was later charged with tampering with evidence, as he allegedly attempted to dispose of a .22-caliber Sig Sauer handgun in the hospital parking lot to conceal it from police. Malik Hall's preliminary hearing was set for February 4, 2019.
