On December 5, 2019, Brandon Harris, a 34-year-old man from Dayton, Ohio, was fatally shot outside Rick's Jazz Lab on Lakeview Avenue. Harris was one of three victims shot by Christopher Leon Smith, who used a handgun to commit two homicides within hours.
