On April 9, 2012, 18-year-old Alvante Pitts was shot and killed in Dayton, Ohio. The incident took place late that morning near Rosedale Avenue and West Riverview Drive. Police were called to the scene at around 10:30 a.m. after reports of a shooting. Alvante was found with a gunshot wound to the chest and was quickly transported to Miami Valley Hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
