Jeffrey Len Duke II, a 33-year-old African American man from Cincinnati, OH, tragically lost his life on April 11, 2020. Jeffrey was known for his vibrant personality and his passion for music, photography, and videography. He was involved in the making of a film and had established Casimiro Barrett Productions, investing in cameras, greenscreen materials, and recording equipment.
Jeffrey was a beloved son, brother, uncle, godfather, and father-figure who brought joy and laughter to those around him.
Jeffrey's death was the result of a double-homicide. He was shot in the back of the head while inside a car with 29-year-old Jasmine Malone. Both victims were transported to UC Medical Center, where they succumbed to their injuries. Cincinnati police arrested 27-year-old Dwayne Harris in connection with the murders. Harris was charged with murder, felonious assault, and tampering with evidence. He was seen on video leaving the scene with a firearm and returning to his nearby apartment.
The investigation revealed that Harris was responsible for the deaths of both Jeffrey and Jasmine. The swift arrest brought some relief to Jeffrey's grieving family, although the motive behind the killings remains a mystery. Jeffrey's family expressed their gratitude for the quick action of the police but continue to mourn the loss of a beloved family member.
The case against Dwayne Harris is ongoing, and he is currently being held in the Hamilton County Jail awaiting trial. The community and Jeffrey's family hope for justice and closure as the legal proceedings continue.
