Born on July 25, 1995, to Scott Elliot Kilgore and Tosha Janel Wilson, JayVen was known to be a kind and loving individual who was deeply missed by his family and friends.
The circumstances surrounding JayVen's death were the result of a violent altercation. On the day of his death, JayVen was involved in an argument with Anthony Eugene Gause, a 32-year-old man from Dayton. The argument escalated and moved outside the home, where Gause struck JayVen in the face with a handgun. Despite JayVen's attempt to flee, Gause and two other men caught up to him, and Gause fired at least two rounds, hitting JayVen once.
Following the incident, Anthony Gause was arrested and charged with murder. He was later found guilty of two counts of murder, felonious assault, tampering with evidence, and discharge of a weapon on or near prohibited premises. Gause was sentenced to prison for his crimes.
