The incident occurred around 8:20 p.m. on September 3, 2020, when Shipley was driving west on East Livingston Avenue and was shot by someone in another vehicle. His car ran off the road and struck a parked car before coming to a stop.
Shipley was transported to Mount Carmel East Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries the following day.
The Columbus Police Department responded to the scene and found multiple shell casings on East Livingston Avenue.
