On November 14, 2020, Tenisha Burdine, a 30-year-old woman from Dayton, OH, tragically lost her life. She was shot by her husband, Tremayne Lee Burdine, 37, inside their home on Vernon Drive while their three children were present. Following the shooting, Tremayne dropped off the children at a relative's house before fleeing the scene in his black SUV.
The children informed the relative that their father had shot their mother.
Tremayne Burdine was later arrested in Montgomery, Alabama, and extradited back to Montgomery County, OH. He was indicted on two counts of murder, two counts of felonious assault, two counts of tampering with evidence, and one count of having weapons under disability due to a prior drug conviction. He is currently being held in the Montgomery County Jail on a $1,000,000 bond.
The investigation revealed that Tremayne was seen leaving the home with a digital video recorder, and police recovered video evidence from the doorbell camera. However, interior video evidence remains unknown without the DVR. The case has drawn significant attention due to the tragic circumstances and the involvement of the children.
