On April 8, 2021, Sade Payne, a 32-year-old Black woman, was tragically shot and killed at a bus stop on the 3600 block of Maize Road in north Columbus, Ohio. She was found partially clothed and suffering from a gunshot wound, and despite being rushed to Riverside Methodist Hospital, she was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
